After years of abusing food, I am ready to make it my friend. I am here to lose weight- get in shape and I would love to have some others to do it with.
I am at the heaviest I have ever been in my life- aka 240lbs , 5'3 tall and looking to get to down to around 110-120 lba when this journey is over..
Feel free to add me as a friend, I would love to have the support from the others here

You were right...we are the same. My goal is exactly what your goal is.
I always start off strong, but fall off the wagon so to speak....gotta keep trying though, because we never fail unless we quit. So even if we just pluck along, at least we are trying. I know this is not going to be easy at all. Losing weight IS the hardest thing I am facing right now.0 -
welcome!
way to go for taking the first step in losing weight. It's a long journey, but it's worth it. I have a long way to go still, but taking it a day at a time.
good luck to you!0 -
@Justice2012 : Yup hehe, we are almost the same age too- I just turned 29 And I think the first step is the hardest.. I really hope it gets easier with time. hehe
@Musicgrl4life : Thanks One day at the time is exactly how I am planning to to take this journey.0 -
Welcome to the insanity that is MFP. It is a great community of similar minded, good folks. We all live in different parts of the world but have a goal to become healthy, loose weight, get off medication ( per the ok of the dr) overcome road blocks, and so many more. I wish you all the success in the world. Welcome to the first day of the rest of your amazing life!!!!

Yes, that's is the ultimate goal for each one of us, especially when you are over and above the ideal weight of your age. I suggest that you focus first on what you eat. Add low calorie meals into your diet and your goal is reachable plus of course exercise. Cut down carbs and add more protein.
