PCOS and insulin resistant girlies

My doctor did diagnose me with PCOS and a year later i was also told i have insulin resistance. Both of these issues can cause weight gain but if i am going to be honest with my self i feel like my weight gain happened from my binge eating and also lack of physical activity due to the pandemic. The doctors keep trying to connect hormonal imbalance with weight gain but I feel like i don’t have PCOS? (Unless i am in denial) when my blood work came it was normal and nothing to hint at PCOS. But my doctors looked at my cysts and noted my irregular period and stated i have PCOS but it’s hard for me to just take that as a answer and go because one of my gynos literally used my weight to justify i have PCOS. It seems like almost every other girl is being diagnosed with PCOS as well so it’s like i don’t know what to do to really confirm i have it. If you have PCOS what did you do to be fully sure that you have it and how are you taking care of your PCOS and loosing weight with it. Do you have a harder time loosing weight and did you gain back weight randomly after loosing weight due to pcos? Does pcos symptoms get worse when you grow older?

I was diagnosed with PCOS and insulin resistance quite a few years ago. Mine was diagnosed based on my symptoms - which were classic symptoms. I was put on metformin, which I hated. I was sick every single day on that med.
I never found weight loss harder when I was actually following diet restriction. I have always yoyo'ed in my weight because I've always managed to overly increase calories resulting in weight gain. My PCOS symptoms have always gone away when I've lost the weight. Now that I'm in menopause, I no longer have any PCOS symptoms.0 -

I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago. I've never really struggled with weightloss until now. When I was diagnosed I went in for irregular bleeding. I had just stopped breastfeeding my 1 year old so I felt that may have had connection. My biggest stmrom was the inability to lose weight no matter how hard I tried. The only thing that has helped me lose weight is eating a low carb high fat diet. That is it. Nothing else has worked.0
