I have a very embarrassing but serious question for any of you runners out there. I love to go for runs! My problem is - now this is very embarrassing - as soon as I get about 1/2 mile out I have to go the bathroom...and I am not talking #1...talking #2. There is a little spot on my route where I can dip into the woods and relieve myself about a mile or so into my run, but that doesn't always help. Sometimes I get this urge after I have hit that mark and I really have no where else to "take a squat". I have managed to run 5 miles, but would love to run more than that but afraid to cause I might not make it home in time. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

A common "affliction" for sure. What works for me is to have a few cups of coffee and some toast or bagel or other carb about 1-2 hrs. before running. That good old coffee/carb combo seems to help me clean out just fine.

Running keeps you regular! Seriously, but I feel your pain. Cut down on your fiber before a run (fruits, etc.) I found that dry toast or half a banana works for me. Or if you can get up early enough, coffee can help get you in the bathroom to take care of business and then out the door. And if all else fails, I carry wipes in my pocket or water bottle holster. Good luck!
