I think I've posted this before, for the same question...what can I say..I'm consistent..
All Along the Watchtower by Bob Dylan, I cannot honestly decipher its true meaning..which makes it all the more enchanting...Dylan was on some superior wavelength when he wrote it for sure...it reads like some religious scripture.
"There must be some kind of way out of here"
Said the joker to the thief
"There's too much confusion
I can't get no relief
Businessmen they drink my wine
Plowmen dig my earth
None will level on the line
Nobody offered his word"
"No reason to get excited"
The thief, he kindly spoke
"There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke
But, uh, but you and I, we've been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us stop talkin' falsely now
The hour's getting late
Hey!
All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants too
Well, uh, outside in the cold distance
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl
All along the watchtower
All along the watchtower
The BSG rendition has always been my favourite..no discredit to Dylan or Hendrix. I just love the eastern sound timbre..and it was executed perfectly in the show...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eitpHYcspF4

"We are kneeling at the river's edge and tempting
All the steps to follow closer right behind
Is it only when you feel a part is empty
That it's gnawing at the corners of your mind, I wont beg you for mercy, I wont come to you kind
what you see is the worst me not the last of my kind."0 -

I'm loving your light, vulnerable
Letting your guard down is honorable
'Specially when the past ain't been that friendly to you, but there's magic in that
You the flower that I gotta protect
And keep alive in the wintertime, hey, don't you die yet
You been way more than a friend of mine, we more like fam
I raised you, you raised me, let's turn this whole life 'round
You can confide in me
I can take the weight up off your shoulder blades and try to store the pain inside of me
Like, why the world do you like that?
Like they don't know you, God sent, but me, I view you like that
I'm sneaking glances, thanking God that he drew you like that
Beautiful black child, come and shed your black cloud
For your vibe and your smile I don't mind a lil' rain
I'm your dog, ears perk up at the sound of your name
Counting your main, wildfire, can't handle your flame
Download your strain, wild high, come drown in your fragrance
You that red pill that a *kitten* found in Matrix
Before I had you this *kitten* was fantasy
You plant a seed, it grows some roots, a branch and leaves
Becomes a tree of life until our nights are filled
With peace from stress and strife
And that's the blessin' that I get from wifing you
'Cause you entrusted me with the key to your heartbeat, and you smart
'Cause even though I need a new start
Due to my past transgressions you believed in me
I guess the light I see in you is what you see in me, Lord

Hi, my name is not important
I'm not from here, I'm imported
I drink liquor like it's water
Hope my liver can afford it
I've been lyin' here with...
I've been lyin' here, I'll be lyin' here
I'm under the covers like
What happened here ain't nothing sacred
*kitten* that got me *kitten* up is
I know that dude just saw me naked
Nursing a broken heart
But who'd've thought it'd take me ages?
I ended up here 'cause my girl said: fake it 'til you make it

“You're the boy that talks but says nothin'
A big game to the ones that you think will believe you, yeah
But you don't know how to read
The look on my face when it says, "yeah I've read that book too"
And who the hell's impressed by you?
I want names of the people that we know that are fallin' for this
You would sell your own mother out
And then betray your dead brother with another hypocritical kiss”

The Completion Backward Principle. Not many people of my age have heard of The Tubes, but I took it out of my dad's record collection when I was a kid and I love it!

How did I end up this way?
A constant knot in my gut,
Tied with uncertainty and with lust.
A classic case, I suppose,
A haunted man who can't outrun his ghosts.
They're in my skin and my bones.0 -

Do you wanna be an angel?
Do you wanna be a star?
Do you wanna play some magic on my guitar?
Do you wanna be a poet?
Do you wanna be my string?
You could be anything

You could even be the man on the moon

“My internal monologue
Is saturated analogue
It's scratched and drifting,
I've become attached to the idea,
It's all a shifting dream bittersweet philosophy
I've got no idea how I even got here
I'm resentful,
I'm having an existential time crisis
What bliss!
Daylight savings won't fix this mess.
Under-worked and over-sexed
I must express my disinterest.
The rats are back inside my head
What would Freud've said?”
