Do I need a new ab workout?

A while back, I spliced together all the ab workouts from 30 Day Shred and converted them to audio and put them on my mp3 player. Now that I'm back to exercising, I've been doing that ab workout 4 times a week. This is the third week, I did my workout yesterday and when I woke up this morning my abs were not sore AT ALL. Sad!
So I'm hoping for some advice. Do I need to change my ab workout? Does not being sore anymore mean it's not working anymore? If so, does anyone recommend any ab workouts that I can put on my mp3 player?
Thanks so much! :)

well you don't need to do ab workouts 4x a week, at most every other day, since they are a muscle group and should be trained as such

and soreness doesn't mean a good or bad workout

Any time you do the same exercise for many days ina row, your body is going to adapt. Basically, if you're not feeling the burn anymore, the muscle in question (the abs) is no longer getting the micro-damage that actually creates stronger muscle.

Shorter answer - you need to switch it up.
  • I'm no expert, but I have learned the value in "tricking" your muscles. I don't know if no soreness means something's no longer working, but I would still switch things up a bit just to avoid any plateaus.

I often only work my abs 3-4 times a week,I push my ab workout till fail, but for me over time I haven't had soreness the day after as you abs are one of the fastest healing & if used a lot heal fast, with a proper amount of protein its common not to feel soreness the day after with your abs, just keep lean % of fat and ab definition will always be noticeable.
