Stop thinking about when and just START!

I was talking to my co-worker yesterday about MFP and how I am finally sticking to something; then came the question- are you excercising? Then comes my answer: not yet! His response: "stop thinking about when to start and just start!" Why is it so hard for me to just start?
Some days I wonder if I'm actually expecting to loose any weight without really excercising. I walk an average of an hour at work every day; I walk the dog morning and night; occassionally I'm running around to do errands. I reminisce about when I was healthier and more active and how happy I was; shouldn't that be enough motivation?

I love the part where people say "I'll start dieting on Monday", or something like that.
Just start now.0 -
haha I was doing this last night, after I sprained my ankle I didn't exercise for like a month. Well I have no more excuses and I was so in the zone before. So I was sitting there my with my brain trying to talk me out of getting dressed to go for a jog, then I thought , why are you doing this to yourself you like to jog, and you feel great when you are done, plus you get to eat more. I told myself stop thinking just get dressed and get out the door. Thats what I had to do, stop thinking and just get dressed. So I did and it felt great can't wait to do it again0

Working out to me is more of an emotional thing. Mentally i have to want to do something to have it done right. You are mentally there so all you have to do is bring in the physical. Dont jump head 1st in shallow water. Take smaller steps so you feel comfortable and ease your way back into working out. I can only speak from my own experience, when i made the choice to start working out i did short runs and built them up over time. I know if i pushed myself to hard the 1st time i wouldnt come back to do it the 2nd day. That worked for me. Each week making my work out harder. Start a few days at a time and really focus on how you feel after, the after part is what drives me to do it again the next day. Its the excitement of hey i can do this and i feel great doing it, i'll get better and soon be unstoppable. It works for me girl! Good Luck! You know i'll help you if you need it! ) (ripped in 30!)0

Hehe iv always been one of these il start tomorrow people...
and i still am most of the time..
But im starting to train myself to if i binge, then dont go **** it im already over my calories for today lets just eat what i want..
To think that actually my body doesnt give a **** what time it is, what date it is. If its the beginning of a day or the end of a day..
It just knows whether its being given healthy food or not..
Or whether its exercising or not..
So now i try my best to never do something later, and just do it now!0 -
I'm a pretty active person without exercising. I may sit down 2 hrs a day (not counting sleeping of course) but you still have to go above and beyond your daily routine to get fit. It is hard at first, but once your body knows what you are trying to do, it gets easier. At least that's how it works for me. As my Dad would say, "Don't put of til tomorrow what you can do today".0

You have to stop saying tomorrow Ill start.. Start Now!!! Its hard to get in the routine and make it happen. But until you have that mind set of doing it, it wont happen. You can do it!!! Find someone to workout with. Join a class. I lost 51 lbs so far. And im doing a kickboxing and boxing class. It kicks my butt most days. But the adrenaline from going makes you want to go more!!! Good luck! You can do it!!!0

It's so easy. Grab a good pair of shorts and sneakers and head out the door. It's so simple to take a walk. The vitamin D, the air, the movement...it's such a gentle loving way to start. Take some good tunes with you or go find a park that has lots of birds singing. Tis my favorite exercise. Start today and tell us about it!
You might even try some of the C25K apps that are out there if you have a smartphone. I found one and started my first running program since college two days ago. As soon as my phone charges up, I'll be out the door.
Another thing you could do...wear a pedometer. If you're walking the dog and walking a mile at work, you'll be able to see the steps made. I hear 10,000 steps a day is a good goal.0 -
Just get up and do it!!
Sometimes i procrastinate working out and then after I get going i'm like why the hell did i procrastinate? Working out feels sooooo good during and after! So now when i'm sitting here thinking i'll just exercise later i'm like f that i'm gonna do it now!0 -
Workouts are like brushing my teeth. I don't think about them. I just do them. The decision has already been made. You know what you need to do! Do it!0
