Android app will not track exercise or calories

I'm running the latest version of the app, but it will not allow me to track exercise or calories. I'll go into the exercise option, find my exercise, enter my minutes, hit the check mark, and then it just goes to a screen where it shows the exercise for a moment, but it won't stay.
