My subtract button on the calculator does not come up. Only the . (period)

Hi, I want to subtract foods from my fitness pal, since I am allergic to cheese. If the calculator comes up the dash won't work but the dot on the same button does. Is there a trick to get this to work?

    NEVERMIND just have to do it on computer instead of ap

    Not sure if it's exactly what you're asking for, but if you're on your diary on the mobile app (Android anyway), press and hold the entry line for the food you don't want there, and after a second or two an option comes up to delete it.
