I have been using MFP for about 4 weeks now and just recently bought a hrm. When I exercised this morning, I was astounded by the amount of calories that I burned during cycling and using the health rider. I have been logging my time and using the auto-populated calories burned which for 25 minutes of vigourous cycling is 319 calories burned. My HRM said that 25 minutes of cycling and 5 minutes of the health rider I burned 465 calories. WOW. If ya`ll get a chance to buy one do it! You could be amazed!

I bought a sigma onyx. It cost me about $60. I want a body bugg, but my husband wants to see me stick to a healthier lifestyle for 6 months before he invests $150+ dollars in it.

I want one too... this is just fuel to the fire but the wifeee has the same reservations about spending $$$ on something.. then I quit the program. Case in point, i bought P90x 2 years ago... never started it. DOH!!!!!!

The only thing about the Body Bugg is the monthly subscription fee to be able to see your stats. ;-( I have a Polar f6 and it logs all my stats into their website PolarFit. I love it!

I didn`t realize that you had to have a monthly subscription for body bugg, that`s no good. I will check out Polar and see what they have to offer in the future.

Haha I guess you like gadgets :). I have used a HRM to see if it gave the same result as the calorie counter on my exercise bike and it did. After some time I stopped using it. The body bugg is good but you have to subscribe to use it and pay monthly fee. There is something better called Fitbit. It also checks sleep. I would buy that if they shipped outside USA, Canada. But I also have a boyfriend who doesn't want me to buy any gadgets. He says exercise and eat good and you will lose weight basta.

I am a ballroom dancer and I too was using the auto populated calorie counter on this site to record my calories for dancing. Some of my MFP friends suggested I get a HRM to accurately calculate what I was burning during my dancing sessions. Come to find out I was indeed underestimating the calories burned. After researching HRM's and getting advice from other MFP members I ended up buying the Women's PolarF7. It has worked great for me and it is so easy to use. Good luck with your HRM and keep up the good workouts!
