Two ways to do it.
Go to the meal. For example today I’m having the leftovers from Monday for dinner.
I’ll go to dinner tonight, click the three dots and say “copy from date”. Then I roll the chooser wheel (non tech idiot term there) to dinner, Monday and select add. Voila, it’s added.
OR go to Monday’s dinner then to the three dots, select “save as meal” and follow the instructions from there. Then it’s saved so you can always recall it.
I typically go the other way round, though.
I’ll creat a new meal, weigh and record everything and save it as one serving. That way, next time I want that meal, all the “full quantities” are there, and I just have to change the serving from “1” to “.25” and save (or however many servings of it you plan to eat).
It’ll make more sense if you experiment with it. You can always add a sample meal and then delete it from your diary.

Thankyou for your reply. I do transfer from date when I can remember I last had that meal but it can sometimes be a while ago and I waye lots of time searching. I know how to save as a meal but I don't know how to add that saved meal back into my diary on a particular day...there seems to be no option to do that. 🤔0

Go to “my meals”0 -
Select the meal you want to add by touching it0 -
Mine are all stored as “1” serving. Yours may be different.0 -
Change your quantity as needed. In this case I changed it to .25% because it made four servings.
If changing serving size be SURE to hit the check mark below to save the serving size change.0 -
Select which meal you want to add it to. (I have changed the names of meals so my meal names won’t look familiar to you). In this case I added .25% of the recipe to my dinner.
You can get into the “add meal” function by going directly to meals. But it will only let you add it for today.
I often plan meals out several days in advance. If you go into “add meal” on the day you want to add it to, by hitting the three dots, you can add it to a future day.
This will populate your diary with the fraction you chose of all the ingredients in that particular meal.
“recipes” doesn’t show this. It only adds a total. I never use the “recipes” function any more because “meals” does the same thing but is much more adaptable if I change quantities or substitute ingredients. Plus you can “copy” a meal to save the revised version. You can’t do that using the “recipes” function.
You cannot bar code scan using the meals function. For some reason it’s glitchy and erases all your good work. 😡0 -
Thankyou SO much for taking the time to give me a detailed answer. However, when I go into meals I see the meal name and ingredients list but there is no option for "add meal" even when I am trying to add a meal for today. Is this function only available in Premium?0

Don't start with the meals function. Start in your diary and click on "add food" below the meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc.) that you want to add to. In either the website or the Android App (and I assume the iOS app must be similar) you'll have choices at that point. The choices are slightly different in the app from the website, but both include meals. You'll have to scroll through the saved meals on the website, but in the app you can search your meals if you remember what you named it (start typing it in the search field at the top of the page; it will give you returns while you're typing so you don't have to type the whole name).
ETA:
If you absolutely feel you have to start in the Recipes, Meals & Food section, find the meal you want to add, and click on it. Then you can click on the white check mark in the upper right corner (in the Android app) and the meal will be logged.
The problem is that it doesn't give me a choice for which day/meal it will log it in. It just arbitrarily logged it in today's breakfast. That seems like a pain in the neck, which is why I recommended (above) starting in your diary, just like you do to log food or a recipe.0 -

Thankyou so much for the above. I have finally cracked it with your help. Makes it so much easier to fill in each day!
