Starting a Weight-Loss Journey: New Member!

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to read my post, I hope you are doing well!

I have joined MyFitnessPal as I have heard many great things about this app/website and I am currently going through a very difficult time in my life. I currently need to lose weight in order to avoid a health diagnosis such as diabetes. Type 2 Diabetes runs in my family, so I feel as though now is the time to act before it is too late.

I have gained a lot of weight in the year and a half, and I have reasons to believe the major contributors are excessive take out, minimal exercise, unhealthy eating, uncontrolled portion control, etc.

With MyFitnessPal, I want to learn the basics of calorie counting, exercising, how to gain a better understanding of healthy portion control, and to significantly reduce my weight and reach my goal weight.

I have also joined to support other people who might be struggling on their weight loss journey, need accountability buddies/friends, to make new friends, and to learn more about ourselves!
