Getting sick and quitting.

I didn't formally quit, but I did get very sick for a week and I felt horrible, so I didn't eat much OR exercise. I noticed that after I got sick, I lacked the energy to do much, but today, I really worked my butt off, did some errands in town, and I did a 20 minute walk at a brisk pace! I also bought some Designer Whey, French Vanilla flavor and drank that as I walked.

I find myself so much happier and energetic now that I've started back. Don't give up! You feel much better while you're doing it whether you notice it or not!

I've also been preoccupied with things like a game and my art, so I haven't been eating nearly as much as I thought I was. Yay! (:

Keep going guys, it's not worth quitting and losing all of your progress and energy like I did!

good for you! i've noticed that i can bust my behind for 2-3 weeks straight at the gym, but then it gets to be that time of the month and i just crash and get lazy. I'm gonna try my best to keep it up as much as possible. If it does happen though, I think the hard part is not lingering on the failure but to accept that it happens, move on and go back to doing what I should.
  • You're welcome, you guys! (: I figured I'd share it and inspire others to keep going.

I was pretty upset that I had failed my own progress but now that I'm back on track it feels great. Zumba and 30 Day Shred are going to be so useful!

Look for the little successes - buttons that button better, a pair a pants that don't squeeze as much, the little bit of energy that didn't seem to be there earlier. The pounds take a bit to come off. All the pitfalls in the way can be discouraging, but the successes do brighten things up. Stick with it; don't beat yourself up if you slip, and watch the magic act you perform as the pounds disappear.
  • I agree! The feeling is better than the number, everyone!

Wow, what a great thread to read today. I came down quite sick today and I thought, while most people wouldn't even have an appetite, I've gorged myself because it is what makes me feel better. I didn't even make it a week here on MFP :( But tomorrow is another day... will start back up again!
