Weight loss comment I'm not sure how to take...

So, today marked 40 lbs lost forever! <insert happy dance here>
Problem is, I sent a picture in an email to several friends and whereas the majority of the response was WOO HOO's and Congrats...I got a few responses back from people who simply replied; "Good job, keep up the good work." or this one "Congrats, now how about an additional 30?"
They don't know what my goal is, they don't know how much I want to lose; but I can't help but feel a kick in the self confidence world... Kind of like, Hey you lost 40 lbs but you STILL need to lose another 50+; or better yet, keep going!
Ugh! I know they mean well and they're being supportive but I can't help but have my ego bruised a little bit. I was going to go for between 50-60 total lost but now I'm wondering if I need to lose more...
Thanks for listening.:flowerforyou:

you do what ever you want to...they probably don't even know what 30lbs looks like. You're right, it's not an appropriate thing to say, but some people are socially stupid. Keep up the good work, and do what ever makes you feel sexy...0
-
You should be very proud. We know how hard you worked. Don't look for anyone else to give you what you need then you won't be dissapointed. They are all just jealous.:flowerforyou:0

Thank you! You might have something there about the jealousy part...Hmmm...0 -
All I can say is that some people are idiots!!
Congratulations honey, 40lbs lost is nothing short of AMAZING!!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0 -
I've found that I have some true supporters who are proud of me no matter what and others who play down my loss because they are not finding the same success themselves. For example, texted my mom an NSV about fitting into size 7 jeans, and she responded 'why would would you tell me that when I'm here baking a cake!'. The people who answered you are probably feeling down on themselves and less motivated than you and your email is showing them it's possible and they are probably jealous!0

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
BLOCK, BLOCK AND BLOCK THE SOB'S!!!
***Sorry had a rough day over here****
Congrats, YOU are doing AMAZING!
Keep it up

Socially stupid! Love that. She's right, though.
I know it does feel like a kick in your self-confidence to hear those comments, but 40 pounds is fantastic and is definately worth celebrating! Just don't send those people any more pics! : D0 -
YAY for you on the 40lbs lost!
As for the a**hats who said they thought you needed to lose more: ignore them. (I had some other choice words, but they're not fit for forum eyes)
You are lookin' hot, workin' hard and you get to be healthy and strong, and it doesn't matter how much you weigh. F those people. There, I (almost) said it.0 -
Just to play devils advocate, the one of 'keep up the good work' I don't think I'd really get offended about...maybe because of thinking of this as my life long work, I'm not sure. (I think I'll have to count calories forever or it'll all come right back on.)
How about 30 more though? <--- that one. I would count myself as one friend down, thankyouverymuch.0 -

Nope, no more pics. They'll just have to suffer through my success.0 -
DOn't let that ignornat comment bother you. Just let it roll and don't think about it again. I can't wait to lose 40 lbs and I will be doing the happy dance with you!!!0
-
You look great and have done a wonderful job! If I were you I wouldn't worry about what they say. If you're happy with you, then that's all that matters! Some people just have no idea what they're talking about!!!! You look MARVELOUS!!0
-
I don't know any "friends" who would be so callous...unless they envy accomplishments of their friends!!
Their comments aren't even WORTH wasting time thinking about them. YOU GO GIRL!!! You're doing fabulous!
PS - Note to self...find some new friends, ha ha!! :laugh:0 -
What a FABULOUS early birthday gift to yourself!! Congrats!
Hope your special day this weekend is just that - SPECIAL!!
And yes - most people are being complimentary and supportive, or at least attempting it.
Here's a funny... my daughter (who, bless her heart, is the same basic body type I was at her age) told me "Mom - when I grow up, I want to be just like you, only more athletic." What a great way to avoid saying that she didn't want to be fat like me.0 -

That's my thought on the one friend down part. I'm leaving her and a couple others off of my updates.DOn't let that ignornat comment bother you. Just let it roll and don't think about it again. I can't wait to lose 40 lbs and I will be doing the happy dance with you!!!
I'm not now, you guys are awesome! Thank you so much!0 -

Thank you! I am going to have an awesome weekend! Going to go to dinner with ADULTS!!!! and then go on a Ghost tour and I can't wait! That's funny about your daughter.0 -
Ignorant people can't help themselves !0

Respond to the person that said "How about another 30?" this way:
Hey _____,
How much do you weigh? Because I am about to lose that much right now! Then UNFRIEND! ha ha ha
Congrats! 40 pounds lost is Awesome!!!0 -
What you have accomplished is totally amazing, congrats!! I cant wait til Im at your level. You must be on cloud nine. I know Im gonna be.0
-
wow, you lost those pounds fast. You are looking great!0
-
downside of sharing too much with people. I keep a pretty low profile on my weight loss, don't expect support if it comes OK, but it is about me, so I am not not hurt when people don't understand.
Congratulations, it is a great achievement!
GG0 -
You look great. I would just ignore them or ask them how much weight they have lost lately.
You can always weed out the un-supportive friends and just keep the supportive ones posted!:flowerforyou:0 -
Screw them! You look fabulous, even if you do have more to lose now is not the time for them to point it out. It's clear that you are on the right path and know what you are doing and what you want otherwise you never would have lost the first 40lbs. Just stick to it and know that you look great, probably feel way better, AND that little black dress is just around the corner0
-
Thanks to you all! I feel so much better. Been bugging me all day.0

Everyone has said what I want to say but I hope you hear it another 100 times, because it's true:
You look amazing! Congratulations!!
40 pounds lost represents a big commitment and tenacity to achieve it.
Be selective of who you call your friend - a real friend *never* would have said that. Unfriend immediately. You deserve supportive and uplifting people around you and the rest can go away.
Go YOU!!0 -

Thank you! I feel absolutely amazing!!!! Kick myself in the *kitten* for not doing this before now, but at least I did it and I'm finishing it!0 -
You are a knock out! I will put it like my sons would say. They are HATERS! Happy Birthday to the new you.0
