Why have calories been deducted before I've eaten anything?

I've just woken up, haven't eaten or exercised, but my daily calories available have been dropped from 1,700 to 1,634

I've walked around my house and my Garmin has logged that. It's being calculated as -66 calories but the app has added those 66 calories like it would food.

Is this a glitch or is there a reason? I've not seen this before.

How active have you been so far? And what is your activity level set to on MFP? I'm wondering if you've simply not been active enough yet to get a positive calorie adjustment.

I've not done exercise yet but I've never seen MFP give calories before I've done anything. Literally just wokeup, went downstairs to brew tea and checked the app to see I have had 66 calories deducted from my daily allowance

My question wasn't if you've done exercise yet, I asked if you've been active 🙂 I've had (small) negative calorie adjustments at the start of the day, because I hadn't been active enough yet (very low step count as well as no exercise).
The calorie adjustment reconciles your actual activity level with the one you selected on MFP, so it doesn't seem that strange to see a negative one early in in the day. If you've chosen an activity level above sedentary/not very active, it's even more likely.
For me, the adjustment turns positive as soon as I'm more active.
