I have been on myfitnesspal on and off for a few months, but this time I decided to stick with it. Its been going great, but whenever I go over my calories/fat/proteins/carbs I feel so guilty and eat a lot less the next day.
What do you all do when you go over at the end of the day?

I try to not obsess about it, although if it's over 100 calories, I get on the elliptical and work out/watch TV until I get it back!0

Well...I just learned that when you work out it changes your calorie amount. Everyone probably already knew that! I'm slow!!! So, when I see that I've ate over my limit I work out some way, even if it's just taking the dogs for a short walk-that will get me more cals. Also...something that's stopped me MAJORLY from overeating...is before I even eat I look up the facts and see how it's going to effect me, if I see myself going nuts on the cals early during the day I slack off or I don't eat what I was planning on eating so I can have more in the afternoon-this is esp wonderful for Friday nights if I want to have an extra drink!0

i do my best to plan out my days' meals the night before, especially if i'm going to work. it makes it easier for me to stay on track. to an extent i also do it the night before i have a day off. but i only work out on my days off, so i go for a big burn to be able to eat more.
don't try and cancel out one day with another. yo-yoing day to do like that can't be good for you physically, or mentally. try to have more discipline in your portions and food choices, and you'll find yourself sticking to it and enjoying your new lifestyle.0 -
That is just what I try to do, but sometimes I go over a lot more than 100 calories, which makes it just about impossible to work off is an hour or less.0

i hate myself for it, so i always do a workout to get it all back, but i try to super plan ahead..if i am hungry for something that is high in one thing or another, i plan the rest of my food around that..best of luck, dont worry, we have all experienced it0

I try to realize it happens... not beat myself up, and eat within my calorie recommendations the next day. I thin it's about a life - not a single day. :-) I DO NOT try to make up for a bad day by eating less the next.
Guilt just sets me up for trouble in the long run.0 -

I log as I go so I know what numbers I am working with. I tried to log the day before but something comes up that makes my meal choices change if I do that unless I go with things not need cooked on the stove or in the oven.
I was not over today, but I felt guilty because I ate a McChicken! I ate what I wanted at the time and it fit into my count so I had to get off my pity can!
I guess if I was to be going over I would look at what I have and see where I can start making necessary changes. I did not have to do that but I have already. When I noticed egg whites worked better on the counts than whole eggs. LOL0 -
Have you tried looking at other food diaries to get some new ideas? I know I like to view others that have that option open! A lot can be learned! Good luck to you. Hang in there. You will get use to it. I have only been at this a week and it is becoming easier.0

I had two weekend in a row where i ate WAY OVER my calories.
I felt guilty, but you can't beat yourself up over it.
You either go for a walk/to the gym and work it off.
Or you start fresh the next day.0
