I am for sure well overweight BMI 36 even though I do not look that big. I carry weight around my face, hips, arms, legs.
Question my throat easily feels tight. I have a small throat the doctor said and told me losing weight might make it feel more open
Anyone notice this change with weightloss. Did your throat feel more open less tight with weightloss ?
Thank you !!

Sounds plausible. The best evidence I can think of is the way that my weight affects how much I snore.4

This might not help you, but when you lose weight you do lose it off your neck too (the outside). Measure your neck, start eating within your daily calorie goal, and continue to measure every week. When and if your throat stops feeling tight, then that would be the measure you need to stay at. This could be an interesting experiment. Let us know how it goes.5

I know I had a lot of physical issues, and some of them were related to my neck and throat. Yes, every single medical issue I had went away with weight loss. Keep going!
p.s., just as a little side thing...I thought I carried my weight well, too. (5'8" 220lbs.) Yeah. No. I didn't. Looking back at images I am really shocked that I didn't see it. Even as I was losing weight I thought I looked really good at 155, just inside the "healthy weight" range. Losing the additional 15 pounds to 140 was a huge psychological hurdle. I'm so much happier and healthier between 140 and 145.10 -

I would be happier I’m sure. That’s good to hear health issues went away. That’s really what I want. I just want to feel good and have good numbers on health I feel this is the type of motivation I need. Because I don’t seem to care about the appearance portion :-)

As a fellow not-appearance-motivated person, a couple of thoughts.
First, one of the reasons that some people with sleep apnea improve with weight loss is exactly what you're talking about, easing pressure around the throat. (But other people have apnea for other reasons, I have to say.)
Second, along the weight loss road, I got a boost from reading bits of the gigantic "non-scale victories (NSV)" thread here. If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend it. It's chock full of things that improve as people lose weight, other than the weight numbers themselves. Sure, some of it is appearance, but lots is not. And people start having these experiences en route to goal weight: They don't have to wait to reach goal to start seeing quality of life improvements.

I'm cheering for your success!

+1 snore, throat, self perception, and last but not least brain taking a while to catch up--in each and every direction including top weight, bottom weight and anywhere in between!0
