Well I just got back on here after having success way back in March 2011. I started working again and gained back most of the weight. Make a commitment to login everyday and list your food. It became habit for me after awhile, sadly I thought I could do it on my own. Tomorrow I will weigh in. I certainly have been afraid of that.
What month are you getting married in?0 -
Hi there!!
It can be very overwhelming to start out - especially when you're looking at the end goal!! 100 pounds can seem daunting so break it up into smaller goals!
Look at losing 5pounds to start with - that will boost your confidence when you achieve it, and you will already be fitter and healthier!
Also remember to take baby steps! If cutting down to 1200 calories (or whatever your allowance is) seems huge and you can't possibly see how you can do that, try tracking everything you eat for a couple of days eating as you are now. That will give you a good base and allow you to see exactly which foods are the problems. Some things may be better cut out all together, other things you may just need to cut down your portion of.
Weight everything! Sounds stupid and can be tedious at times, but really understanding your food and how your fuel your body is important. You may estimate something to be 50g when in actual fact it is 150g.
For your first week, I recommend tracking what you are eating to give you an idea of your nutrition, try to walk 3 times for 30 minutes and cutting out one thing you know if bad for you (ie. I cut out coke).
I only started a couple of weeks ago and I have 35-40kg to lose which is 77-88 pounds and already I feel much better! I set small goals for myself to start with (I cut out coke, tracked what I eat, weigh everything and joined curves as well as getting in atleast 3 30mins walks a week). I lost 2.2kg (5pounds) in the 3 days. I found that writing down what I ate before I ate it has made me much more conscious of what I am eating - I havent snacked and have ate good, nutritious meals without changing too much.
Good luck! Add me as a friend if you like!0 -

How wonderful! My youngest daughter is also getting married in Dec 2012! I hope to take off 100 lbs as well by then. I am looking to take off 10 lbs a month. That should be do able. I need help as well since I have been a yo yo dieter. What the previous girl has said before me, sounds like sound advice.0
