Hiya thought I'd ask on here since you're all so great and supportive. I've been having a few ideas lately about how I can use my journey and experience to help and support other people going through the same thing and I thought that I owuld like to do a fitness instructor course and possibly and nutritional course also (not specifically related to sports nutrition).

The thing is where to start; I have no idea what the reputable route would be. Could anyone offer any help? I'm in the UK too

Thanks xx

  • Hi thre! I had the same thought when I lost weight after my second baby. I did the CYQ Exercise To Music qualification as an evening option and got a job as soon as i qualified! I love aerobics and all fitness related stuff, so this was ideal for me. Contact your local FE college and see what they have on their timetable. It was def one of the best things I ever did and I had so much fun and met loads of great people so I would def recommend it :-) Good luck and ENJOY!!

Hey! I've been looking into the same thing here in Canada. My suggestion is to simply do a search on 'fitness instructor certification' and go from there. I know most countries have a fairly simple certificate level course you can take that generally top out around 30 hours total class time or so. Find out what the name is of your national Health&Fitness governmental regulatory body and they should have a list of certified classes there!

    Hope this helps! :)

The reward is great IMO. Knowing you help people achieve fitness and health goals is worth the effort of learning the correct information. The hardest thing to do IMO, is to put yourself in others shoes while they sit across from you giving you excuses or reasons on why they can't to it. Once you understand that, then the job gets to be pretty easy.

    Thanks everyone that's great.

That is exactly why I want to do this Rachael. I think it would be a job I would really enjoy and as I already know all the excuses from making them myself I'm halfway to being empathetically hard lol
  • It would really be a great idea , you yourself experiencing the transformation and achieving your goal would definitely inspire others aiming for the same goal though I'm not sure if the same training will work for both men and women.I found info about diet plans for men which I may recommend to my friend since I have my own set of diet plan.
