My sodium is always way over. I have tried to monitor my daily intake. But the more I watch it the more it goes up. I am trying to stay under 2000 a day. But I'm always over 3000. I hate to even share that. Does anyone have any advice on how I can lower my sodium? Please & Thank you :flowerforyou:

Eat less things out of packages and cans. Cooking up some chicken breast, veggies, from-scratch soups, will yield SUPER low sodium compared to what you're used to. Try to cook your food from start to finish where you can, so you can control how much sodium goes in. :-)

Eat as raw and natural as possible... . also cut out the processed foods, I know for me I have to watch eating too many things processed in jars. . jalapenos, olives, and things that I like to eat, but they have a lot of sodium. . .

The other thing that you can do is if you like to buy can goods to supplement fresh veggies.. I get the no salt added variety. . . I tend to eat a lot of beans. . so I learned what brands carried the least. . .

Hope this helps a little. . . like I said as raw as possible. .. beware of seasonings and condiments too. . but there are a lot of salt free spices. . Take care.

Its hard to judge since your diary is closed.....but I wouldn't worry too much about sodium unless you medically need to. Make sure to drink lots of water on the days you go overboard, but you should be drinking lots of water in general......

You have to cook your own food. Change out bad ingredients for healthier ones. That's what worked for me.
  • I follow a vegetarian diet. I eat a lot of soy products. I don't eat vegetable out of the can and I prepare all my own meals. I've noticed a lot of the soy products I eat are high in sodium. I buy them because I think there healthy but they have so much sodium. What type of things should I buy?

I have the same problem. I am trying to cut out packaged foods and canned soup. That should help a little. Of course, do not add salt from the shaker!!

I try to stay at 1500 or under. It's totally manageable on days I prep the food. Whenever I eat out or eat premade/processed food I go over.
