stone = 14 pounds0 -
That's about 1.5 pounds a week, which is a 5,000 weekly calorie deficit, which is attainable.
Just stick with the dieting and exercise, and the results will come.
You can do it~!0 -

For exercises, i lift weights and do some cardio.
To be honest i've been lazy on doing the cardio, perhaps just 1-2x a week lately (also i have the weird problem of after losing 40lbs, i got so used to eating at a -500 daily deficit, i lost toooo much..., and am trying to gain back 10lbs or so now...)
I think the ideal for cardio though is more like every other day or 3x a week, depending on your situation, goals, etc.
Supposedly strength training is good too, while toning muscle it also increases your body's metabolism rate. this has the added weight-loss benefit of your body burning more calories as you rest, plus firming up muscles.
Cardio of course is essential to any fitness program and for losing weight and burning fat, whether it be walking, stationary bike, swimming, or even jogging, whatever you can do or fits in your lifestlye, oh but you know that.
For cardio exercise i use a stationary bike 45-60 minutes, or if my sore knees allow i try to jog at a nearby school track. For weights I go to a nearby gym, for about an hour, 6x a week (i'm a little nuts in this regard)0 -
I go to a pool toning class 1 hr/day 3 days a week, a general toning class 1 hr/ day 1 day a week, 20-30 mins of cardio (4-5 times a week (working on upping that this month) and have done strength training 30 min/day 3-4 days a week (but took a break from that to increase my cardio) I was lacking cardio but i could always get to the gym to just do that half hour of lifting so i swapped for this month! Starting oct 1 (a whole month of just cardio) i will introduce lifting back into my mix as well as continue to increase my cardio!0

Hi there and welcome!
A stone is nothing babe you can definitely do it!!!
You need to find someting you like doing in the exercise world, that is the key. However, you should do about 30 mins of CV a day 6 days a week, and make it something like brisk walking over jogging which is not so good for weight loss. Swimming is also good. CV is all about getting fit not about making you firm. But it does assist with weight loss but only to a point.
Weight training is the way to go, this will firm you up as you lose weight, you can go 6 times a week to the gym if you like working on diferent muscle groups each day. But for a beginer it would be better to go 3 times per week and do a full body work out every other day and cardio inbetween. Weight training burns fat faster than anything else.
Whatever you decide I wish you all the best!!! Good Luck!!!
