Hi everyone. .Well this is day 1 of my quest to do 10,000 steps and stick to 1200 calories. I don’t know what my weight is atm as I’m too scared to even get on scales at this point but I know I was 12 stone 7 last time I tried over a year ago and goal weight is 10 stones. Hoping joining the community will give me the incentive I need to stick at it this time!

Just wanted to wish everyone the best of luck in their 2023 health and fitness. quests. We’ve got this!

    Good luck! That will work.

Like the other person wrote, it feels good to ease into a program (even if it doesn't have that excitement)

6000 steps and 1800 calories for a month. 8000 steps and 1500 calories for the second month. 10000 steps and 120p calories the third month. Something like that.

Me and a lot of others appreciate having wins and building on those wins. Serring myself up for a whole series of little wins just seems appealing.

Lots of ways work, again, best of luck and post back your progress and successes.

    Welcome aboard!

It's good to have a goal, and 10 stone is yours. Have you thought about some intermediate goals so you can be happy you are progressing? Don't be afraid to get on the scale. Then you'll know where you started from. Even scarier would be to take some "before" pictures. Later, when you are successful, you can look back and say, "Look how good I did!"

How did you determine 1200 calories was the right number? It might be, but it might be too low. If you underfeed yourself, you set yourself up to go wild and then you'll be sad you did that. Go slow to go fast. It took a while to get where you are, so don't try to rush getting back. It's all about developing new good habits to replace the bad ones.

And just keep sticking to it even if you have a bad day. Don't give up if you stumble. Just keep going right away; don't even wait until tomorrow, much less next week.
