I have a CSA, so I get a box of farm-fresh vegetables delivered weekly to my office (today, actually!). Then, I take it home, look at what I got, and plan around that. Find a staple that you want to use that week, and build up around it!

I posted earlier that I really like and use the facebook page skinny crockpot. It has helped me out so much!

I have been using e-mealz for almost a year and love their easy recipes! It's very budget friendly. I highly recommend!

"Fundamentals of Menu Planning, 2nd Edition" on Amazon.com

"Quick and Easy Diabetic Menus" by Betty Wedman-St Louis

"Cooking Light: LIght and Easy Menus" by Cooking Light Magazine Editors

You can find most of these at most book stores, if not try BA.com (Barnes & Noble) or amazon.com
I find the Diabetic menus are just common sense and follow the food guide pretty closely and they have desserts and special occassion meals as well.

There are some great recipes and ideas here: http://www.eatingwell.com/nutrition_health/weight_loss_diet_plans

http://www.foodonthetable.com/ - has ideas for budget friendly meal planning and you can make a shopping list - not always diet friendly however! So you'd have to pick and choose and tweak some to be more health conscious

    www.bettycrocker.com
    www.pillsbury.com
    www.perdue.com
    www.allrecipes.com

Alot of these sites let you pick recipes and create a shopping list from them. It's pretty handy!

Other ideas are the "cook once, eat all week" recipes. You can just google that and find ideas. Great way to save shopping and time.

    Good luck!

Mealboard app for iPhone. It doesn't give you food ideas, but lets you plan your meals and make a shopping list for the ingredients. Very handy.
