Question on BodyMedia Fit

I just got a BodyMedia Fit and today is my first day wearing it. I have the bluetooth one and it will show me real-time updates of my calorie burn. So far today, since midnight, it says I have burned 1350 calories in my normal everyday activities (walking across campus, doing work, etc). How do I account for that in my calories burned here on MFP? Or do I need to do that? I know I am aiming for 1,000 calorie deficit daily but I have been reliant on MFP to help me measure that each and every day for 4 months now.

Help? Anyone? I know I'm not the only person on MFP who uses a BMF or a BodyBugg...

I have had my Bodymedia Fit for one month. What I have been doing is using MFP to keep track of my food eaten. Each day on the BMF activity manager I use "daily estimate" under "nutrition" at the bottom of the activity manager page and I plug in my calories from MFP. I just try to eat a deficit of around 1000 each day.

Some people I have seen post that they do the opposite and create a custom "exercise" on MFP called "bodymedia" or some such, and plug in the calories the BMF says they burned for that day.

I haven't yet come to trust if the BMF is really that accurate for me, but it is very interesting and has certainly so far changed my eating in a way that I believe gives me more of a chance for long term success and maintenance. I was dieting for about 2 months before I got it using MFP numbers. And on MFP I had my activity level set at "sedentary". If the numbers that the BMF are giving me are correct, then for those first two months I was running a MUCH larger deficit than intended. If I set my MFP activity level to "lightly active" and then add in my exercise calories, the two match up fairly closely, with the BMF still saying I burned somewhat more. I just ran a report with the BMF activity manager site for the last 28 days and my average calorie deficit since I got it was 1260. Which should have equated to a 10 lb loss over that time frame. I have lost 5 lbs. However my body tends to lose in fits and starts so I do not consider this one month a long enough time frame to make any judgements really. Also since getting the BMF have been eating quite a bit more calories than I was before, trying to maintain about a 1000 deficit per its data, and my body may still be adjusting to this increase. I'm happy so far. And definitely eating in a way that is much more sustainable than at any other time I have tried to lose weight, even if it does turn out to be a bit slower lol.

Even though I can't quite convince myself yet that the BMF numbers are empirically correct, certainly they are valuable to see relative differences, such as ok today I burned about 200 more than yesterday etc. I really love this tool!
