do you have any dumbells that you might be able to do an upper body workout with? Or stretch bands work really well... I've had pneumonia for a couple weeks and haven't done much working out. I have still lost weight since I'm eating less.

I just saw you were from Beaumont... I lived in Nederland a LONG time ago...

I'd like to hear some suggestions also... I did something to my hip running so I walk w/ a limp. No running ( or anything that causes discomfort which is everything) for at least 2 weeks and it's driving me crazy! I'm so hungry but can't burn calories.

Just spend the time losing weight by staying in your calories. Take the time off and recover properly. Long run you're going to do more damage by overworking yourself than if you just take a little break. I had back surgery in January and a baby in June. Took off 6 weeks for each. Didn't notice much difference when I got back to it. Maybe take the time to read some exercise science or motivational books to rev yourself up and keep yourself in the moody for when you can start exercising again. It's hard to have to take time off, but if it's the best thing for you - just do it.

PS - Stell - try swimming.
  • I spent a week on bedrest and stayed under my calorie goal everyday and still gained weight. Getting a bit fustrated. But It has been anlost 2 weeks since my injury and I am moving around now I just can work out yet, still havbing trouble walking. I will certainly try the upper body stuff, that is a good idea, thanks.:smile:

Jillian Michaels swears by punches and so do I! Get a couple of 2lb hand weight bands and punch away. It will blast up your heart rate without hurting your thigh. Good luck!
