Hello everyone.

I am new to the site, I added the Iphone app a while ago and figured I should start using it.

I have 2 children (age 1 and 4) and my body just isn't the same as it used to be. I love exercising but don't always have child care so struggle recently. I have today started the 30 day shred and hope it works.

If anyone wants to be diet/fit buddies so we could help each other along, I would love it very much.

you can do it!! Welcome to MFP!!
  • Hi! I'm fairly new here too. I am a bit older older, 51, and mother of 5. I've never been a small person but in high school and college I was fit and curvy. I always thought I was fat because I was bigger than my friends but in looking back at pictures I can see that I had a terrible perception of myself. While I was pregnant with my first child (who will be 27 next month!) I gained 65 pounds and never lost it. I proceeded to gain more with each pregnancy until I topped out at nearly 300 lbs at 5"4". I had tried every diet imaginable. I knew I would die young if I didn't do something. I opted to have gastric bypass surgery about 6 years ago. I don't recommend this for everyone but for me and where I was health wiseit was a good decision. I have lost 80 lbs and can actually exercise now! I had started regaining some of the lost weight over the past few years and that scared me into finally deciding to work on clean eating and exercise. I still have lots of days when my eating habits slip and I don't want to workout. I am also looking for friends for mutual encouragement and inspiration!

I am a 41 year old mum of two (2.5 and 4.5) the eldest started started school this week and I work full-time as well.

I started my journey at the begining of the year, there are times when I struggle and other times it seems fairly easy, but that
is just life. I started doing work outs on the wii and then did 30 day shred, it will do the job, and its great for when the munchkins have gone to bed, and my hubby is out so I can't go out myself.
I do power -walking when I get the chance, doing a half marathon a week on saturday!!!

I think having little ones might make the journey take a little longer but it is still do-able.

    good luck
