Also, I will be starting my research rotation and will have to brown bag it everyday for 5 weeks. Anybody have some fun lunch ideas to spice things up a little but still keep it in my calorie range (1200\day)? thanks!

Granola Bars- Fiber One Oats and Chocolate! These are sooo delicious! They have about 140 calories but are VERY high in fiber. Like 9 grams, I think. :-)
Hummus- Sabra brand Roasted Garlic. TO DIE FOR.
Mid-day snacks- I usually have grapes, strawberries, 100 calorie popcorn or something like that. Sometimes I'll have a Fiber One bar.
Cereal- I'm an old grandma and love Rice Chex. :-)
Crackers- Not a big cracker fan. Chees-its I guess.
Spices- LOVE Rosemary! Especially on oven roasted potatoes! I'm also quite obsessed with the sea salt grinders that are popping up everywhere these days.

I cannot have the carbs so I do not have creeals, granola bars or crackers, but I do have some lunch salads that I love.

    1. 4 oz Broccoli Slaw (in the pre-packaged salad area), handful of Nature's Sweet Cherub tomatoes (cut in half), 3 oz. Kirkland grilled chicken breast, 1/2 an ounce of chopped unsalted almonds and 2 TBSP Newmans Own Low Fat Sesame Ginger Dressing. This makes a BIG bowl and is satisfying and filling. Calorie count = 300 (if you want a lower calorie portion you can skip the almonds and save 80 calories)

    2. 1 english cucumber cut up, handful Natures Sweet Cherub tomatoes, 1/4 cup low fat feta cheese, 3 oz Kirkland grilled chicken breast, 1 TBSP Annie's Natural Sesame ****ake Dressing
    Calories count = 290

    3. A snack that I think is great, but sounds weird is one wedge of Laughing Cow Light spread on 3 pieces of celery. Then I top each piece of celery with 5 pieces of Hormel Turkey Pepperoni.
    Calorie count = 125

    4. This is a filling mix for a snack too. I small red pear, 1 piece of low fat string cheese and 1/4 an ounce of almonds. Calories = approx 200

I think that the 90 calorie packets of tuna are also life savers .... I will pair it with a piece of fruit or some veggies. Also really great on a salad.

I will say that POP Chips are REALLY awesome. I find them at the cafe at my gym - 100 calories for the bag and they come in salt and pepper, salt and vinegar, BBQ and plain. Yummy!
