I have been working on several habits including not only tracking food, but tracking exercise and making sure I get enough. My other big habit is paying attention to how much I eat and trying to be within 10% of my calorie goal every day and more important within 5% every week.
Just tracking is a good start for sure. Don't make any changes to your diet, just track every morsel you eat and every drop you drink. Track completely, consistently, and honestly. Then, after several weeks, look back at all the data to see if there's some easy places you can make changes for calorie management and/or improved nutrition.
So, in addition to starting the habit of tracking food, do you have any goals you will try to attain?0 -
Yeah. I’m shooting for 158lbs. I’m currently about 164. I’m consistently staying at or below my calorie range. Trying to work out 5 days a week.
Today was shot, I had a meeting run over and I employee evaluations, so I ended up putting myself last, I’ll try and make up for it tomorrow.

My five year anniversary on MFP is in just a couple days. Before I was on MFP, I used a site run by the US Department of Agriculture called "Super Tracker." It was more klunky, but it wasn't a private company. I would probably still be there, but they shut the site down since there were now enough commercial sites doing the same thing, and doing it better I might add, and the government usually doesn't like to compete with private industry. I looked at a few different online tools and settled on MFP; it's a good one, and I've been here ever since.
I don't remember how long I was on Super Tracker.0
