I just bought a couple packages of bagels and the label on them says that they need to be refridgerated. WHAT! Do I need to toss them? I never noticed that before today. Ugh!

Are they the alternative bagels? It really depends how long they have been out for. Try them, and if they taste fine just put them in the fridge!!0

I just bought them at walmart. They are David's Deli bagels. They are in the refrederated section. I bout them probably a good 12 hours ago and went to eat one and.. ugh! I am certian I have ate them before without putting them in but I dont wanna chance it either.0

I agree, they should be fine just don't let them hang around too long! And if you haven't already, maybe put them in the fridge to help them stay around longer.
myastyme, I just wanted to say I really like your statement at theend of your ID, about being kinder to everyone. We should all try to keep that in our minds, myself included. I had a run in yesterday over the phone with people who were not friendly (spoke to their supervisor and I hope it got taken care of) and they were so awful I had to cry when I got off the phone. so today at work I was really careful as I spoke to people, trying not to MATCH their tone (which might have been argumentative sometimes) but trying to keep my tone upbeat and positive, to help them become more upbeat. I think I'm usually that way but often we don't realize when we are not responding kindly to someone else. --oh, and congrats on your progress, that's awesome!0 -

I buy that brand and keep them on the counter.:flowerforyou: ..never noticed issues with them, love em, great fiber content and lower carb/cals than many brands. oh and the price, you can't beat that!.
I guess if I left them for weeks or something that might cause a problem but no different a loaf of breading that's been around to long I imagine.0 -

Okay great! I will eat them! I looked at the package and it says may contain traces of egg so I'm betting that swhy it said refridgerate just for liability issues maybe. I ate them before and never had a problem but I'm pretty funny when it comes to some of that stuff.0 -
I have a question. I probably sounds dumb but this topic confused me some. So is it not good to eat food that is in the refriderator or freezer?
I know, I know, stupid question. :blushing:0 -
well, the question was specific to the bagels she bought. they were kept out but later she noticed the bag said they should be refridgerated. we'll all weighing in on whether or not we think they are still good to eat (have not gone bad) even though they were not kept in the fridge.
what do you think - should she go ahead and eat them or toss them?0 -
keeping them in the fridge just keeps them fresh longer ... they won't mold if they are in the fridge0
