Had a good day yesterday - got back on track with my eating and where I had some food from a local restaurant, I overcalculated just to be sure to stay in my calories. An even better choice would have been to have had food that I knew for certain I could accurately log. Feeling light and full of energy today, which I am attributing to my light dinner. It feels good to not be lethargic.
...though I did relax for far too long on the sofa last night. I watched a few episodes of a good show on tv last night - an old A&E show but it's new to me on HULU - fit to fat to fit -- where the trainer gains significant weight and then takes it off with their client. I found it to be fascinating. For one, the trainers pushed incredibly hard to re-claim their former capabilities - lifting and doing cardio 2-3 hours a day over 4 months to be fit again. It dispelled my notion that it takes 6+ months to impact physique in a noticeable way. They truly lived, breathed and focused solely on the task at hand. A key to this was their mindset; that it is okay to solely prioritize having the physical body you want.
Fitness impacted their energy for life, their social activities (hikes, rock-climbing, etc) and their mental health. Several trainers became negative, argumentative with their partners, sedentary, and ashamed that their outward appearance didn't match their sense of self. It was a good reminder for me that my view of myself is impacted by what I view in the mirror. That adjusting my physique impacts my muscles and endurance, but also my mindset, self-esteem, productivity, connections to family/friends, and excitement for life.
It is great to learn and make these realizations, but even more impactful if I am feeling them, not watching them on a screen.
Had a dr appt today & got the all clear on lifting dumbbells - so feeling excited to start
@RubyRed427 - so sorry to hear about your fall. I also would weigh as normal & after you heal, you can weigh holding your cast and without to get the weight of the cast material. Then subtract that from your previous weights.
@frankwbrown - I am on bouncing up & down with my weight and see you are having similar alternating weigh-ins. Solidarity.4 -

Well I finally got back to the gym this week and it has really helped with the motivation to eat healthfully. This morning was one of those dreary cold days but I dragged myself there and was so glad that I went. I felt much more energetic and had a more positive disposition after working out. Now that I am back to my gym routine hoping to see some positive changes in the weight/fit department.
@RubyRed427 - I am so sorry to hear about your accident. I broke my foot a couple of years ago and had to wear a boot for 3 months. I went to the gym with the boot on but primarily focused on upper body work while resting my foot on a stool. I did a little lower body with my "good" leg but used the arm pedal exerciser for cardio.9 -

Finally going down. I bought lots of fruit and veg this week so hoping to get more in my diet.
Trying to stay away from bread as it doesn't digest well but it is a struggle as I need to buy it for my husband and I always get fresh in store baked. If I do have bread I only have 1 piece.
I need to get into the habit of tracking my foods. I haven't done it for the last weeks and I know when I do track I do better.
No big plans this week so hopefully I can stick to eating better and healthier.
Definitely not going to hit my 3 month goal but hopefully next round.
Funny how the weeks my weight went up I was more active. Walked more during those weeks but didn't walk at all this last week and weight went down....hmmmm7 -
I am a 5'3" retiree living in upstate NY.
I started tracking again with MFP in January 2022 and have lost 67.8 lbs to date.
My final goal weight is 135-140.
January 3 2022: 230
March 7: 216.6
June 3: 196.4
Sept 2: 182.8

Feb 18: 164.5
Feb 24: 163.4
Mar 3: 162.3
Mar 10: 162.2
My progress seems to be leveling off again but I have to remind myself that 1 week does not constitute a plateau. I did have a couple higher calorie days including one when I ate way too many potato chips so that could be the reason for my lack of progress. I'm still hoping to get below 160 by the end of March.
Have a great weekend everyone!

My name is Mary, 65 from Pennsylvania.
Been MIA for a few months but still logging in everyday since I started MFP 5/14/21. Trying to get back into the swing of posting on my threads I've been in for awhile. 668 continuous days now today in a row since I started MFP.
Unfortunately lost my mojo and gained a lot back but not all Thank God! Need to get back on track and focused. I bought a NEW to me, gently used, Commercial PreCor EFX 835 Elliptical. It was delivered the beginning of November, as others here know I wore my previous 10+ year old one out from my extensive workouts. Back up to 150 minutes on my 3 days off per week.
Good to see some familiar names here and glad to see some new ones too!
Heaviest weight 255 lbs, twice. :-(
9/14/20-255 lbs
5/14/21-232.2 lbs
4/6/22- 147.6 lbs (107.4 lbs lost) I did NOT have a surgery. Did Keto.
8/1/22- 167.2 lbs

1/1/23- 213.4 lbs
2/1/23- 207.4 lbs

2/21/22- 202 lbs Elliptical Interval (HIIT) setting first session 124 minutes for 8.14 miles, zone 3. The had to babysit for about 2 hours, then the second session Interval setting again 56 minutes for 3.75 miles, zone 3= 180 minutes, 11.89 miles.
2/26/23- 202.6 lbs Elliptical HIIT setting Fri, Sat & Sun, 150 minutes 9.89 miles -10.12 miles. So 40+ miles this week, since I took an extra day off on Friday. Waiting for the scale to show my efforts. :-(
3/1/23- 201 lbs Yippee!!!! January down 6 lbs, February down 6.4 lbs!!!
3/5/23- 200 lbs Elliptical Thurs, Fri & Sun 150 minutes for just over 10 miles each session. Finally glad to see a drop. I was hoping for Onederland though. Oh well, it's inevitable. Can't complain about 7.4 lbs since 2/1, in 4 1/2 weeks.
3/12-23 205 lbs. Too many carbs lately. Elliptical HIIT setting on Friday & today (Babysitting on Sat) 150 minutes each day, just over 10 miles each day.

Happy Thursday Everyone,
58 YO in TN, 5'4"
My numbers seem to be a little stuck....I've not moved the scale much after my COVID bout earlier this month. BUT, I think I'm getting back to speed now and can make the scale move down with more effort. I've said this before but when I am at 192-187lbs it seems to be where I get stuck. Hoping I can Jump that hurdle by the end of the month.....Just need to track daily... GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE on meeting their MARCH GOALS! My oldest son was born on St. Pattys day... So that's got to bring some luck!!

I will weigh in a little later and post. I'm just sipping coffee and enjoying a Sunday morning.
I am now doing three programs- Noom, MFP, and now Omada. Omada is free through my insurance and my request to join finally came through. They send you a beautiful, snazzy scale.
Noom has been paid for so I'll continue that- lots of audios and I like logging food on there because they color code your choices so you can see right away how you're doing.
I love MFP for these amazing groups and community.
I think I'lll like Omada because I have a coach assigned to me.
I guess if I don't lose weight at this point, I'm my own worst enemy!!! LOL
I have lost a few pounds but it's hard because of the leg cast on me to see how much.
I am snacking much less because it's inaccessible because it's in the cupboard.8
