Ever listen to a song without paying attention to the lyrics

Heard this song in my car today, which I've listened to a million times but never paid attention to the actual lyrics, until today.

This sums everything up for me right now... My new anthem! Haha.

Let me know if it gets stuck in your head...

Manage me, I'm a mess
Turn a page, I'm a book
Half unread

I wanna be laughed at
Laughed with, just because

I wanna feel weightless
And that should be enough

But I'm stuck in this *fudging* rut
Waiting on a second hand pick me up
And I'm over, getting older

If I could just find the time
Then I would never let another day go by
I'm over, getting old

Maybe it's not my weekend
But it's gonna be my year
And I'm so sick of watching while the minutes pass as I go nowhere
And this is my reaction
To everything I fear
Cause I've been going crazy I don't want to waste another minute here

Make believe that I impress
That every word
By design
Turns a head

I wanna feel reckless
I wanna live it up, just because

I wanna feel weightless
Cause that would be enough

If I could just find the time
Then I would never let another day go by
I'm over, getting old

Maybe it's not my weekend
But it's gonna be my year
And I'm so sick of watching while the minutes pass as I go nowhere
And this is my reaction
To everything I fear
Cause I've been going crazy I don't want to waste another minute here

This could be all that I've waited for
(I've waited, I've waited for)
And this could be everything
I don't wanna dream anymore

Maybe it's not my weekend
But it's gonna be my year
And I've been going crazy
I'm stuck in here

Maybe it's not my weekend
But it's gonna be my year (it's gonna be my year)
And I'm so sick of watching while the minutes pass as I go nowhere (go nowhere)
And this is my reaction
To everything I fear (everything I fear)
Cause I've been going crazy I don't want to waste another minute here

Yes, all the time, as long as I like the beat, I don't really care what they are saying!

ALL the time. One day my brother gasped because his very 'chasteful' sister, me, was rocking to Lady Gaga 'Love Game'... and I was clueless about the lyrics or what they meant.
  • I could care less about lyrics. It's all about the music for me.

Although, there is one song recently that I do really like. I cant remember the verse lyrics, but the chorus goes something like

Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday

    Something like that

I'm a singer, so I always notice the lyrics. Unfortunately there are 2 songs which I find so offensive I have to change the radio station. I can't believe they consider them appropriate for public broadcast...if they were a movie they'd be rated R or X.

For me, music is all about the lyrics, espically when they mean something.

But, I have the days all I care about is the beat and I end up missing good music and having to wait days for it to be replayed!

    I'll never forget this...

about a year ago my ex-husband needed a ride to his car(it was at shop) so I do it for him.
I've got the radio on..it's not loud at all. Kids can't hear it. The Usher song "in this club" comes on.

Very naughty lyrics. My ex thought it wise to repeat thse to my daughter to make a point.

Now if I do him a favor, I'm listening to NPR.

Lol! Thats for everybody from the south, we could care less about words its alla bout the beat if its a rapper, and if its a singer its about the voice and the arrangement of the music.
  • I have more than once had a song that I love and will hum the tune and then I will actually listen to the lyrics for some reason and wonder who the writer for the lyrics were because they were terrible.
