So my siggy(I refuse to say boyfriend, trying something new out) just sent me a text. I guess there are fans running through classrooms and campus yelling "tigerbait"----sorry jsgirl but silly geauxmers.

Now the thing is WVU fans are just insane. We're talking worse than SEC. We're talking light their town on fire when they win a game.
The rivalry we had vs them was actually cancelled because of the hate and how dangerous it got.

You take an already contentious environment(HUGE out of conference match up) and make it worse with childish antics? When does having fun cross the iine and become dangerous?

Another example of not danger... but just bad hate..Poisoning that tree at Auburn..

You should try living in Louisville and living the rivalry that is UK vs U of L. UK fans in Lexington when they lost the Final Four last season literally were setting furniture on fire.

    I call them cretins.

I'd say its gone to far when it directly harms someONE (not some thing) that is not involved. Otherwise, go big or go home ;)

If you are old enough to rent a car, and are wearing a jersey any place other than at a game. it is time to check yourself. Likewise if you start to use the pronoun "we" for a team you are not on, there is an issue.

When they have to have riot police at matches to pat all the males down, or fans of the away team get caught trying to bring machetes into the stadium.

(personal experience from AS Roma games)

I dunno - Colorado sports fans get a little squirrley when we win big. Balls-out squirrley. Couches on fire for College football, overturned cars for Stanley Cup wins .... I have a very skewed view on fan insanity.

Sounds like the riot I ran into in Rome when Berlusconi won his vote of confidence. Terrifying. I was just trying to get to work!

I would LOVE to get ahold of ol' boy and shove slivers of the Oaks under each of his nails and in every orifice he's got. You can't replace what he destroyed. If it was a building or statue, it could be rebuilt like nothing happened. Those trees are over a hundred years old. You can't just run down to the Old Awesome Tree store for new ones.

That being said, I'm not fanatical about any team. I was born, raised, and bred an Auburn Fan. There's a "War Eagle" in my heart no matter if we win or lose. Since moving to Ohio, I have become a Buckeyes fan, too. Not like the ones you see on TV who tell and go crazy. I follow the team, watch the games on the weekends, have a few OSU shirts. But nothing major.

I don't get invited in too many organizations. I didn't do the whole "high school pep rally" thing, never had much for school spirit. I don't think I'd ever paint my face and go crazy at a football game. That's just not the type of person I am.
I think being an Alabama fan is going too far.

LOL Yup! My brother is a Bammer. Total arsehole too! He's got tickets to the Alabama-Arkansas game tomorrow. I hope Ark goes in there and just roflstomps Bama's face in. I won't happen, but a girl can hope!

Lol yeah, that's what all these Penn State tools said too. No vaseline.

And Kifflin needs to be taken out in a field and put down. He was paid a RIDICULOUS amount of money to fill Fulmer's shoes and came nowhere near it.

I prefer how we handle things in the Georgia Tech marching band...we just make up crude and lewd lyrics to the tune of the other team's fight song. And sing along every.single.time their band plays their fight song. We've got some goodies in our bag of tricks...

And in honor of tomorrow's game...

    Ohhhhh...

It's WV. When I lived in VA and went to WV, I can see why the fans are insane.

During practice, whenever the band director would say, "Band, about face," we'd all do a 3 point pivot while chanting on each beat, "Penn State Sucks!"
