I did lose weight while I was pregnant not intending too. I think just stick to a healthy diet and do safe exercises like walking. Exercise is healthy while pregnant as long as it's not intense. Congratulations as well0

I had an MD tell me once to just maintain my weight while pregnant. Technically, i was losing but because of added weight of baby, placenta, birth fluids, and water retention. When baby was born, I weighed 20 lbs. less than the beginning of my pregnancy.0

I lost weight during both of my pregnancies because I had gestational diabetes and had to follow a strict diet and exercise routine prescribed by my physicians. But you have to be careful not to restrict too much. You should talk to your OB/GYN or midwife about it.
And congratulations!0 -
I did. I lost 10-15lbs. But that was due to hyper emisis and I gained it back by the end of my pregnancy. I suggest to you though, if you don't suffer from hyper-emisis. Just to cut out too many caffeine drinks. [I drank mostly water and gatorade. and the ocassional tea] Walk, walk, walk! It will help with your labor later on and helps you to keep the weight down. 30 minutes of exercise is generally the recommended amount of exercise you do. [At least here it is] As long as you don't exhaust your self. :]
P.S The book what to expect when your expecting tells you some exercises you can do while pregnant.0 -
Striving to lose weight is not healthy nor wise while pregnant. HOWEVER, and a big however, if you are overweight or obese living a healthy and active lifestyle that results in the loss of excess weight, but steady growth for your unborn baby is healthy. You should not be restricting your diet except to make it a healthy menu rather than "crap" food, you should not be working out so hard or vigorously that you are unable to hold a normal conversation, you feel fatigued, or you feel light on your feet afterwards... also after week ten you should not lay on your back in a flat position as it restricts blood flow to the placenta... abdominal workouts will be off limits after this time. Congrats onthe baby... heres to a healthy start!!!0

I also lost 10lbs while pregnant with my son last yr w/o trying. I had alot of food adversions. Im a meat eater, but when i got prego, i still ate meat, just very little portions. I craved alot of fresh veggies & ate alot of Coke Icees & subway mayonnaise. lol!
BEST PERSON TO ASK WOULD BE YOUR DOCTOR!! Congrats!!0 -
My ob told me no squats or lunges, don't work out as a high of an intensity before pregnancy and eat healthy. If you're a runner you can still run unless your dr says other wise. Id still talk to my dr if I were you. And like mentioned before obviously no ab exercises like cruches lol. Core strengthening exercises could be fine if dr says so.0

I've been told by a couple different doctors, if you have the weight to lose it's def ok to lose weight as long as you're eating healthy. They also said that you can still work out like you did before you were prego, just don't start going beyond that. So like, if you were used to running a mile everyday while you weren't prego, go ahead and keep running a mile everyday. Just don't up it and start running two miles everyday. Hope that help. good luck!! And congratulations!!!0

Talk to your Doctor! He/She is the only one who knows all about you and your pregnancy and is the only persons advice you should be taking.0

I believe trying to lose weight while pregnant may affect the nutrients you need to sustain 2 lives efficiently. I would consult your doctor before uptaking it.0

want to echo what ering said. i think this forum is a great resource for a lot of questions, but the only person you should trust with this questions is your OB/Gyn. he or she will be your pregnancy expert0

If you are practicing yoga ,than you will not gain weight in that proportion.I would recommend you to practice prenatal yoga before pregnancy and postnatal yoga after pregnancy to check your weight .
