Saturday was a quick spin in Watopia before tri training swim class.
Today, Sunday, 20miles in the great outdoors! My first IRL ride of the year. Winter bike needs some TLC, roads were a state and the fog made seeing where I was going difficult (I wear glasses) so not the most successful outing but gave me a taste of summer to come.

Zwift - long 39.6 mi Tick-Toc ride to get ready to ride metric centurys.
I leveled up in ZWIFT to level 23. I had a great 3 hour ride today..picking up the pace.
I bought a new bike today should get it this week or next. Now I can leave my existing bike on the trainer!
I hate taking it off and then putting it back on again so now I can just leave it on there.

@RMUNTZ2 Great job leveling! And congratz on the new bike. That's what I did with mine - got an old vintage '72 Schwinn Super Le Tour at a garage sale for $50 and mounted it permanently on the trainer. It gives me something to gripe about with its friction shifting and lack of gears!
Zwift Spring Training workouts are here!! Finished stage 1 today. VERY pleasant aerobic exercise block. Didn't even murder me, which is surprising considering that I did an interval run barely 30 minutes before hopping onto the bike to knock this out.

I want my gravel bike back sooooo badly lol - stupid bottom bracket not enjoying its time in the ocean. Ugh.
Daily 10 done with an interval workout on Zwift. 300 watt sprints when your FTP's in the low 200s are fun, but not for 30 seconds at a time lol

Daily 10 with a Zwift pace bot. I'm convinced that the Miguel-bot has been hitting the tequila instead of focusing on riding because he's either sprinting his brains out, forcing 200+watts to keep up with his '135 watt average' or forgetting how to ride and dropping off the face of the planet, necessitating drops to 60 watts to let him catch back up. He is borked. Or drunk. Virtually, of course.

@wendsg I saw on Facebook quite a few people saying the pace bots are riding all over the shop. Seems the update has sent them a bit squiffy. I hope it gets resolved.
I’m having a bit of a thing for the workouts at the moment so probably a good thing as normally I’m quite keen on riding with the pacers since it requires minimal thinking and planning timing wise etc. NORMALLY you just jump on and you know what you’re going to get.
Tonight I’m going to try the same workout as Tuesday but increasing the FTP bias. Hopefully I don’t blow up half way!1 -

Thankfully no blow up but I definitely felt the extra 5% on the FTP bias. The workout was HWBTWTDWH (or something like that! From build me up wk6) ridden on Champs Elysee. Nice 700+ calorie burn.

Woof, those of you who can do the high cadence workouts, I commend you. My knees HATE those with a burning passion. Plus the hip that I tore muscle in during my initiation season years ago (never healed quite right, unfortunately) likes to light itself on fire. Keeps me warm on cold winter nights, but this is not the season for that any longer.
Today was a real nice day outside - toasty, sunny, with danged good winds - blowing at a constant 6mph with gusts up to 15mph to keep things interesting, especially when those wind gusts smash you in the face. The Bianchi needed to prove herself against the Golf Cart Karens of the neighborhood. They do make it hard to pass them by hogging the entire trail, though lol

Don’t get me wrong, I’m no good at high cadence but hopefully by practising I might improve. I hate it. This is my plan … work on your weaknesses and all that.
Today I wasn’t really feeling it so just turned the legs at a reasonable effort whilst engrossed in some of the forum posts on here.

Well, y'all know that in Zwift, if your trainer's not at max you're not really riding. 🤪<- canned response to people who tell me to turn my resistance down while grinding my knees to pieces going up the Ventoux. Because 52/42 chainrings combined with a 6-speed 14-28 cassette is... well, vintage gearing with friction shifting and a grand challenge (that makes riding my Bianchi a bloody dream).
Speaking of trainer at max, trainer was at max for riding with a drunk Zwift bot tonight. Daily 10 done.

Rode with a friend who is an ex-pro who raced in Europe and was on the US National team. It was good having him along but the route did not lend itself to lots of drafting. We were cruising along pretty good today on some great gravel roads.
