Any one have any advice for me as I start my weightloss journey! I am a 28 year old mom of a 7 and 8 year old. I am at the heaviest weight I have ever been in my life. I am heavier than when I was 9 months pregnant with my second child. Right now I weigh 280 pounds and I know I need to make some better life style choices so I can be around for a long time to watch my children grow up.

Weight loss is mainly being in a calorie deficit. Did you get your daily calorie goal from MFP? Do you use a digital food scale to weigh and measure all food and drink? That will be the most important thing you do.
Then, if you can and want to, do some movement. Even walking is good to start. If you've never exercised before, start slow and build up. Do something that you like to do.
Then start building good habits that will see you through weight loss and beyond. Once you lose the weight, you want to keep it off.

My advice is to figure out your calorie deficit on MFP and then make changes to your diet that you can live with to support sustainable weight loss. Don't go too fast and don't make changes to your diet or activity level that make you miserable and more likely to quit. You can do this!2

Once you know how much calories you are consuming, try eating a little less calories, protein will make you feel more full, and on top of that do some cardio0

I’m going to qualify this a little.
There are three main macros: protein, carbs and fats.
One or the other will make you feel satisfied and full, but it varies by individual.
I eat high protein for satiety, and because of high activity level. My husband finds carbs to be more satiating. Me, I’d gnaw my hand off on a high carb diet.
It’s worth experimenting to see which macro works for you, and then incorporate that knowledge into your planning.1 -
My advice is to never again call it a "journey". A journey has a beginning and an end. You are wanting to simply change your lifestyle. Also, "My ___ journey" is so 2014.0

My advice is to plan ahead. If possible, plan every meal and enter it into MFP tracker for at least 3 days (the entire week is even better, but starting small works too). Be flexible when things change (you forgot to thaw chicken so you made a veggie stir fry instead) and just update the tracker. Balancing out my days and week only work for me if I plan ahead vs trying to decide what to eat at the last minute. It also curbs mindless eating. For example, if I'm hungry between meals I can glance at remaining calories and find an appropriate snack.
It also helps me to look at the whole week. I can enjoy higher calorie foods one day if I have a larger deficit on another day to balance out the weekly total. And, it can help to eat those higher calories midweek if you're thinking in terms of comparing weight loss on same day every week (like if you think of Monday as your official weight, don't eat your highest calorie days on Saturday and Sunday).0
