Hello, need feedback while doing a keto diet while intermittent fasting as type 2 diabetic

I’m trying to monitor my ketones and high fat/low carb diet, carefully monitoring my glucose at the same time. I’ve been maintaining this diet for a couple months while never going out of ketosis and managed to drop about 20 lbs. it took me a while to progress to longer hrs of fasting I lost all hunger pains after the first week and recently I’ve been comfortably dealing with one meal in the mid afternoon.
I’ve also noted that staying hydrated with water, mostly carbonated with fresh squeezed lemon or lime. I need this to maintain kidney health and to avoid stomach emptiness when fasting longer than 20 hrs, helps to block snaking when I see food, too.
My average glucose levels are steadily coming down as my metabolism getting is kickstarted to reduce insulin resistance. I hear that diabetics have to be cautious and understand ketone levels may not reflect true numbers.
Anyone with some medical knowledge give me some pointers before my doctor chews me out on what I’m doing wrong? 🤣
Thanks in advance!

Most medical professionals will be very hesitant to offer any advice online, as there is assumed liability in doing so. I would just talk to your doctor, they'll be happy to discuss it with you!1

Just my opinion.
The reason your fasting blood sugar is reducing is mostly because of your weight loss and not because you have ketones in your blood. Lower carb or the ketogenic diet also puts a person primarily into a whole food diet with foods that contain less carbohydrates and sugars, and of course mostly all highly palatable and ultra processed foods are virtually eliminated, which on it's own merit in isocaloric conditions will have a positive effect at promoting a more insulin sensitive environment, which automatically will lower blood sugars as well. Basically it was weight loss and to a lesser degree the low carb situation you find yourself in and imo being on the ketogenic diet for this purpose is not really going to make that much of a difference than low carb and a ketogenic diet is nerve racking to say the least or at least I found it was.
When dieting like this it virtually eliminates all salt, so the keto flu, light headedness and weakness is attributed to the lack of electrolytes so make sure you keep that in mind and make sure your getting enough, it's not a good space to be in when a person is deficient. I suspect most Doctors know pretty much squat about nutrition and personally I would seek out an endocrinologist if I had medical issues and if it was your own PCP that put you on this dietary regime, then that would be the person to ask.
