What does "bump" mean?

Sorry if this is absolutely ridiculous, but what in the world does "bump" mean?! :blushing: I seem to see it everywhere, and I never know what it means!

    It's a very legitimate question .. not ridiculous at all.

    It's simply a word typed as a reply to move a thread to the top of the current list of threads. It is 'bumped' to the top.

    It also allows you to have a post/topic saved in your "My Topics" so that you can go back to the topic later.


    And, just in case, "NSV" means non-scale victory.

    I think that it also means that the topic will show up in the ' my topics' section.

    Makes it easier to find if you want to come back to it

    I think it can also be used if someone is interested in seeing the responses to a thread and want it to show on their list of posts on their profile so they can come back and check it out later.

    Yep ..believe it or not ..LOL
    You could type in one single letter or recite your favourite poem and it would have the same effect. The activity on the thread makes it move up to the top.
