Has anyone found success or use in these books? I purchased the new 2012 edition online for pretty cheap and wanted to know other people's perspectives.

I think they are great resources to have! I have bought all of the versions the last 3 years and use to carry them in my purse!! Especially the restaurant and supermarket ones, they were very helpful!! Sometimes you think you are making a good choice only to find out it wasn't and these books help with that!!
  • I want to purchase those! Where did you find it for a resonable price @?

I've got most of them and think they're great- obviously, or I wouldn't have them. Another book you might consider is "Food Rules" by Michael Pollen. It's mainly common sense stuff about what we eat, but don't think about. Things like real food rots. And, if someone's grandmother wouldn't recognize it as food, it probably isn't.

I don't know about how helpful they are, because I've never been able to get past the creepy author. He appears on the Today Show pretty regularly, and I find him to be condescending, smug and self-righteous. All the suggestions I've seen him make seem like plain common sense to me. But maybe the books have something to offer that he doesn't provide when he makes media appearances.

    Amazon has it for $13.

But is it all restaurant foods they're talking about? If so, I don't have much use for it. The free preview only talked about restaurant swaps.
  • I love those books!! The cookbooks are the best ones, cause they've got some fantastic recipes/ideas in them.
