Just wanted to say hi

Hello everyone. Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I'll be 55 at the end of the month. Due to a combination of reasons (health, medication, depression, or just plain old overeating) I have gained over 100 pounds in the last 3 years. I am now 264 pounds, and just want to be able to enjoy my grandson Brody, who just turned 1 year last month.
My doctor keeps telling me I need to start walking (hurts with my arthritis and edema) or to join a water aerobics class (this body will never see a bathing suit any time soon). So the idea of a site where I can track what I eat, and how much (even if it's a little) I exercise seems doable.
I've been reading the posts, and have to say I feel motivated more than I have in a long time. I even took a walk today (only for 15 minutes) and plan on doing some kind of strength training later today (after the swelling in my ankle goes down a little bit).
Anyway... just wanted to say hi, and hope to get it done right this time.
