So my grandma (and probably lots of other grandmas) used to tell me that you had to eat something 3 times before you could say for sure that you didn't like it. I thought that was just a clever way of getting me to eat healthier food, but it turns out to be true in my case. I'm staying with my parents while my husband is in boot camp and they eat sweet potato fries and whole wheat pasta. I didn't like either of these foods when I moved in but ate them because I am determined to be healthier-- now 3 or 4 tries later I love them. I guess your tastes can change-- wonder if that means my husband could one day like salad? :P

    That is very true, your tastes adapt to the foods and you do start enjoying... been saying that for a while glad I'm not mad and someone else is experiencing the same!

    I eat almost everything and I mean that literally, but my family is another story.
    They eat;
    Bread
    Mozzerella(melted only)
    Tomato Sauce on pasta(only one)
    hamburgers

    and not much else.
    Its like I died with some great Food Sin on my soul and I am forced to see the same thing over and over again.

    My sweetie doesn't like to try new food, but after some cajoling went to a Japanese restaurant for sushi and now even (sometimes) will eat sashimi. Three years later he still marvels at how much he likes it. Grandmas know everything:-)

    Meh, I don't think so. I tried sea urchin twice and that was it. Both times I spit it out. And I love almost all sushi.

    @dmpizza That's how my husband is too-- he comes from a large Italian family and he loves the Italian foods. Since he started training for the Navy he's gotten a lot more open-minded but he's still a hold out on salad. :P

    I was told it was 30, now for me that would make sense as to why when growing up I hated brussel sprouts.. LOL but now I love them!! xxx

    I think there is a fact sheet somewhere with details about that.

    I told my youngest when she was 4 about trying things at least 30 times before you knew if you liked it, she let her tongue touch the food item 30 times and said, no still dont!!
