I have done: Just whole body sequential progressive relaxation, then watching the breath. Simple is good, IMO.

Sometimes I do deep breathing before bed to help me zone out. I count to 10 taking breath in.. and then exhale for a count of 10…

What works for me is something I kinda just figured out on my own. I close my eyes and picture a large blank canvas in my mind, completely white, and I imagine myself holding a large flat paintbrush in my hand. As I go back and forth over the canvas I focus on making the color change, just slightly, so that it takes about 8-10 passes changing shades ever so slightly till it fully becomes the next color. I follow this pattern:

    White to Yellow
    Yellow to Orange
    Orange to Red
    Red to Purple
    Purple to Black
    Black to Blue
    Blue to Green
    Green to White

Then I repeat the pattern. I find focusing on the colors changing helps clear my mind of other thoughts and the rythmic back and forth of the brush somewhat entrancing and relaxing. I can't tell you how long I do this for, I usually do it once I'm in bed and I tend to doze off at some point in the process. LOL.

Affirmations on Spotify. I fall asleep to them.
