has anyone tried 5:2 diet? I would like any tips, suggestions or recipes for this diet.
Note: for those who does not know what 5:2 diet is.
5 days u eat normally but reasonable portions of anything u want
2 days u cut ur calories by 25%. So for women it is 500 calories a day and for men 600.
Thanks in advance

I have been following this for 8 weeks. I've lost about 5 pounds. It would probably be more if I was better about "eating mindfully" on the off days, when I tend to want a few drinks. Your description is just a bit off from my plan. For my two "reset" days, I try to stay under 800 calories and still get 40 gm of protein. The rest of the time I just try to stay with "healthy" stuff, mostly. I find it easier to stick to this than to the old 1200 calories every day business where I had to track everything all the time. This way, if I have a craving for something sweet, I can just tell myself that I'll have it tomorrow, if I still really want it (I usually don't) It's not really hard to stay under the 800 calories. I skip breakfast as a rule, and call it "intermittent fasting", then have a "healthy" frozen lunch selection (250 cal or less) and for supper have a really big salad with some kind of protein added. I've come to really love my big salads! Plus they make deciding what to have for dinner super easy. That leaves enough calories for a protein shake as a snack in the evening, which also helps me get to the 40 gm of protein.0
