Camelback Straw

I love my camelback water bottle but I have a real problem with the straw getting dirty. Does anyone else have this problem too? Is there any way to stop this? All I drink out of the bottle is water so I don't understand why the top piece gets so dirty all of the time. On a related note, does anyone have an easy way to clean the darn thing?

  • I stopped using mine for that exact reason. It's effing annoying.

So do you take the top piece off and just use it without it?

My husband flushes his army camel back with clorox.

This is going to sound weird, but I use a Q-tip to clean the mouthpiece. There's also a cleaning kit you can buy that I use for the straw.

Oh my gosh that is what I've been doing. I use hot water and qtip but I felt like there must have been some kind of better way! Haha! Maybe I will look into getting that cleaning kit. Thanks!
