    Hi, Will
I’m really happy for you that you’ve begun your journey to health. I wonder if a professional nutritionist or health coach of some kind might be helpful to you. I’ve used that kind of support before and it was really good to have consistent support. I’m sure you’ll see lots of good food ideas here, also. Good luck and God bless your journey.

Have you checked out the recipe area in the MFP Blogs**? That has some really good recipes, many of them quite simple to make.

If you want something ultra-simple, maybe just pick up a rotisserie chicken (which should last for multiple meals) and some bagged frozen vegetables (some kind without a high-calorie sauce: check the label). If you want to flavor it up, use a reduced-calorie sauce or herbs, lemon juice/flavored vinegar, or something like that.

The bagged salad kits can also be good, if you add a solid protein (chicken, tuna, cottage cheese, tofu, whatever), and watch out for high-calorie dressings. (If the dressing that comes with the salad is high calorie, substitute a low-calorie bottled dressing.)

In either case, eat a reasonable portion of the protein, and a whole bunch of veggies. Maybe have an apple or some melon for dessert, if you have the calories.

Cooking doesn't have to be super complicated.

I love putting a bunch of chicken breasts in the crockpot to shred them. Then I can eat it different ways throughout the week. For example if I cook them with some chicken broth, salsa, and a taco flavoring packet, I could eat shredded chicken with black beans and avocado… or put it on tortillas or with rice….
