Pre diabetic - recommend protein powder

Hi, I’ve just told by my GP that I’m pre diabetic. Are there anyone who can share which food to avoid? Or any tips on diet.

Also, can anyone recommend any sugar free protein shakes? I usually take Bulk powder but not sure if I should stop that. I’m very active, eat healthy most of the time, try to eat more protein and do like eating
carbs too. 😃

Do ask your GP for a referral to a diabetes educator or a registered dietitian. Meanwhile, here's some dietary advice from an advanced practice clinical dietitian and diabetes educator at Johns Hopkins: https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/prediabetes-diet

Other posters have made general recommendations (not diabetes specific) of the plain Quest protein powder, which can be used in cooking. I believe this is that:

    https://www.amazon.com/Quest-Nutrition-Multi-purpose-Protein-Powder/dp/B07L8W2VGZ/

It has no flavors or sweeteners, natural or artificial.

INGREDIENTS: PROTEIN BLEND (WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE, MICELLAR CASEIN). CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF THE FOLLOWING: LECITHIN (SUNFLOWER, CANOLA, AND/OR SOY LECITHIN), SILICON DIOXIDE, XANTHAN GUM, CELLULOSE GUM.

I recommend avoiding any PP with sucralose, unless you are confident that you like it.

Stay away from surgery drinks! All empty calories. Eat complex carbohydrates. Whole grains. Just a couple things look at hidden surges. Fructose etc.
