Hello!
I’m a 29 year old teacher hoping to lose weight and make sustainable life changes. I’d love to have my energy and ward off diabetes which runs in my family.
I do love to be active and get outside but I’ve had a hard time balancing my work schedule and doing that.
My husband and I are also hoping to try to get pregnant in the next year or so, I’d love for my body to be feeling much healthier before that.
I’d love any tips on how to exercise/eat well during the school year from any of you veteran teachers out there!

Hi. 20 year veteran educator (instructional coach now) here.
First. Congratulations on taking the first step in prioritizing your health.
I am by no means an expert on health and fitness but I do have strategies that work for me. For instance- I use alarms in my phone almost religiously. I have a set calendar appointment for exercise each week. I also have found one or two healthy outlets for my emotional and physical health. For me- that is acupuncture weekly and a hot/cold therapy at the sauna house weekly. I also completely unplug from on ALL technology (tv, computer, cell phone) at a set time each and every night. This allows me to do things I enjoy like needlepoint and reading.
I also am following (mostly) a Mediterranean food lifestyle. It’s hard for me because my husband refuses to eat that way.
