Getting All My Calories In

Hi, I’m having difficulty using all my 1300 calories per day. I’ll usually eat a protein and veggies, salad, fruits, sandwiches and I’m eating very good. Then when I get full I just don’t want to eat anything else. Don’t get me wrong, I love to eat. I just need to get all my calories in. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Add fats. Cook your protein and veg in fats, or top with olive oil or butter. Add olive oil to your salad. Mayo or avocado on your sandwiches.

yeah, stop making any foods "off limits." You need fats, fat is very important for healthy body functions.

How long has this been going on? Probably for a short amount of time? It's common to feel "full" on lots of vegetables and protein but at some point you'll start to feel hungry. I am assuming you came to this site to lose a few pounds? What were you eating to get you to that point? Eat some of that.

Cmriverside, this is my first week. I just want to get my lifestyle back on track and watch my blood sugars and lose a little weight. I started adding good salad dressings and usually EVOO/avocado oil. I also want to tone. The bulk of my weight is in my gut. I’m post menopausal. Thanks for your thoughts!

Add some good ole feta or blue cheese and some roasted edamame to that salad. Add bacon or extra protein to it.

A good quality bread for your sandwich.

Any number of snacks I could suggest.

    Add cream to your coffee.

Actually, this is challenging, I’m so used to plotting how to cut calories!

Nuts (better unsalted ones)! Very small, very good for you and will add to your calories easily.

You may just be on a motivational high since you just started. At some point in the coming weeks I bet you get hungry enough to eat more. The other possibility is you aren’t hungry because you are under estimating what you are eating but it’s definitely too early to decide.
