Who are here to change there lifestyle.
Just wanted to start a thread to see how many fellow dispatchers are out there. This also includes our fellow EMT- B, I and R, Police Officer and Firefighers out there.
Looking for fellow like minded friend with the same warped sense of humor that I have.
I'm sure you know the saying. We are trained to save *kitten* not kiss them.

I dispatch for the RR. I'm sure my sense of humor is just as sick.0

Awesome.
Normal people just don't understand our morbid sense of humor and how we can laugh at emergencies. Welcome
I dispatch for Police, Fire and EMS for Foxwoods Casino0 -
I've actually been there. Beautiful Place. I dispatch for the RR in SC.0
-
Cool, how long have you been dispatching?
I have been a dispatcher for over 6 years0 -
I just started in October. Working crazy shifts, makes it difficult to diet.0

Tell me  about it. I work two 12 and two 8 and it's so hard to stay within my daily calories.
I track my day on a 12 hour clock but I do munch all night0 -
I've been really good about not snacking and taking healthy food to work for my meals, we can't leave so i tend to pack my meal the night before so I can grab it and go. I've been really sticking to my calories. I wish the job were more physical so I could burn so calories at work instead of being stuck to a chair and radio0

I can't leave either so I have draw in the fridge where I store yogurt and cheese. I also store packs of oatmeal, fiber one bars, tuna, etc
It really does suck, for 8 - 12 hours you sit around, answer the phone, allow people access to the building and handle a few emergencies. I don't have the ability to take long walks so I do exercises I have found online for office workers.0 -
I'm attached to a radio with no windows. Everytime somebody heats food in the microwave I smell it. I just try to bring something that smells just as good.0

My MIL is a police/fire dispatcher & I just wanted to say thank you for your hard work! Good luck to all of you!:flowerforyou:0

O man that's harsh . I'm the only one using anything in my office after 2300hrs. The cops and firefighters have there own kitchen a good distance away. The only food I have to deal with is mine and my partners when I have one.0
