Choosing Activity Level

Options
Quick question- when trying to maintain weight and syncing fitnesspal with Fitbit, how do you determine your activity level? For instance, should you choose “not very active” since your Fitbit is bringing in activity or do you still put accurate activity level regardless?

Personally I use ‘not very active’ and let Fitbit do the rest. That way if you have a lazier day you’re not overeating, and if you are super active that just adds more calories to your total.

Your call. Either way, you should end up with the same total calorie goal by the end of the day, though the ups and downs over the day may differ a bit.

If you put in a realistic activity level, you'll tend to get smaller calorie adjustments. If you put in the lowest activity level, but are really more active than that most of the time, you'll tend to get bigger calorie adjustments.

Either way, IMO, it would be a good idea to enable the negative calorie adjustment in MFP, so that it can reduce your calorie goal if your tracker sees you as less active than MFP initially thought you were going to be.

Different people seem to make different choices about how to handle these settings, and still do fine according to their preferences.
