Hello!

Not really new to the app, but I am new to the board. Im turning 36 in a few days and I want to get down to 147-150lbs. Im currently at 178.8 last time I checked(harsh reality) and its been hard losing the rest if the weight.

I also had a hysterectomy due to pre uterine cancer( turns out after pathology tests, I did had cancer and tumors) this year in March, so Im still mystified about that. I think thats when I faltered.

I wont lie, my diet hasnt been the best-from fast food, eating once or twice a day or snacking on taki chips. So, Im hoping with a daily exercise regimen and better diet, Ill be able to shed it quickly. Id love some friends to help me out as well!

Y'know, not to be a downer, I think there's something better than shedding it quickly: Keeping it off permanently.

Making manageable, sustainable changes has some advantages: Finding fun and practical exercise, increasing it gradually as fitness improves; figuring out how to eat foods one likes in ways that are calorie appropriate, filling, generally nutritious overall.

I do empathize: I had a cancer experience myself (stage III breast cancer), though that was some years back now. I realized I needed to be more active to recover from the cancer and its treatment, so I've been active (with fun exercise ;) ) since soon after treatment.

I stupidly didn't start serious weight loss until much later, age 59. I started only a bit above your weight (I was 183 at 5'5"). Now 67, I'm still active, have been at a healthy weight for 7+ years, 131-point-something pounds this morning.

It can work . . . and in my experience, it's worth the effort. Wishing you much success!
