Completely new to exercise!

Hey there! I've never actually worked out much at all throughout my 29 years of life. I just recently quit drinking and it gave somewhat of a snowball effect to all others aspects of my health, so I've started walking ten thousand steps every morning, intermittent fasting every day, eating healthy, working out and meditating. Let's just say this past month has been quite the revelation for me. I understand that it might look like I'm taking on a lot at once, but I promise I'm not pushing my limits yet. If I did I wouldn't enjoy it as much as I am. That being said, I have very little to zero workout-experience, so I hope I'll learn a lot through the community on here. The community through the app "I Am Sober" really helped me quit drinking so I hope this community has a similar effect :) Glad to be amongst people who prioritize health, as most people in my vicinity do not. Thank you in advance!

    Hello

I also have up alcohol to gain my health back. The people around me have now stopped harassing me to drink and I think they finally get it that I won't... lol

I don't miss it one bit! :) This is a huge step froward if you can maintain it.

What I did was join a gym and get a personal trainer to get me going on a strength training. routine.

    Baby steps! :)

    Thank you in advance!
Identify a sober person that you think you would enjoy their company, then ask them to join them in something active that they do.

Some hardy souls thrive being alone and using their basement treadmill (wow.) I think most end up appreciating the social elements, and fun, that comes with doing activities in good company.

    Try pickleball.
